Do you have an unwavering passion for driving excellence and innovation within this dynamic industry? If so, we have an exhilarating opportunity for you as a Managing Director.

In this role, you will serve as the heart and soul of our organization, you will skillfully balance creativity, strategic thinking, and operational excellence, reporting directly to the Group Managing Director. This is not a role for the faint-hearted; it demands exceptional stamina, resilience, and a willingness to work late nights, sometimes consecutively.You must have an eye for differentiating great ideas from the mundane and stay on the pulse of emerging trends. Tact and diplomacy are required when dealing with promoters, agents, and DJs. Your creative flair will contribute significantly to improving the venue and customer experience.

You will take charge of marketing, promotions, and talent strategy, navigating the complexities and nuances of leading a creative team. High standards in day-to-day operations will be your norm as you oversee an outstanding team including a General Manager and an Assistant General Manager. Although omnipresence isn't expected, your pivotal involvement at crucial moments will be essential.Key Responsibilities:

  • Business Ownership: Treat the entire business as your own, balancing creativity, strategy, and operational excellence.
  • Leadership: Report to the Group Managing Director, lead marketing, promotions, and talent strategy, and manage the complexities of working with a creative team.
  • Operational Excellence: Oversee day-to-day operations to the highest standards, ensure smooth functioning of the venue, and manage the General and Assistant General Manager.
  • Financial Management: Own the P&L, handle forecasting and reporting, monitor operations, identify cost-saving opportunities, and negotiate multiyear deals with suppliers.
  • Growth and Opportunities: Drive future growth, achieve ambitious revenue targets, identify new business opportunities, and develop partnerships to enhance the club experience.
  • Creative Vision: Stay abreast of emerging trends, generate innovative ideas, and lead projects to continually improve the venue and customer experience.
  • Event Management: Work closely with sales and operations teams to ensure exceptional delivery of private hires and events, showcasing versatility in managing diverse event types.
  • Team Collaboration: Manage cross-functional teams in a constantly evolving environment, ensuring the delivery of overall business objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in managing high-profile nightlife or live events.
  • Strong strategic, operational, and financial acumen.
  • Robust network of industry contacts across agencies and brands.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work tactfully with promoters, agents, and artists.
  • Creative flair and a passion for innovation and improvement in venue management.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
