We are seeking a DEI Manager - Equality Impact Assessment to join our People Services team within the People Directorate. This role is pivotal in managing and developing robust equality impact assessment processes, ensuring our activities reflect the diverse needs of our staff and the communities we serve. The successful candidate will be an experienced individual with exceptional organisational and communication skills, and a strong understanding of the Public Sector Equality Duty in the UK.

Day to Day of the role
  • Coordinate and manage multiple workstreams including mailbox management, policy reviews, and equality impact assessments.
  • Schedule and organise meetings, prepare agendas and materials, and take notes.
  • Engage with a wide range of stakeholders, providing advice and support on EIA matters.
  • Develop and deliver workshops, webinars, and training sessions on EIA.
  • Monitor progress across the EIA workstream and report on team performance.
  • Maintain robust internal processes for information handling and confidentiality.
  • Stay up-to-date with developments in DEI and relevant legislation.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience in designing and utilising evaluation interventions to improve organisational performance.
  • Proficiency in developing measurement tools such as equality impact assessments.
  • Skilled in drafting and implementing inclusive policies.
  • Ability to collect, review, and analyse data effectively.
  • Strong written communication skills for producing educational material and reports.
  • Proficient in MS Office suite and capable of managing complex IT applications in a training environment.
  • Membership of the Chartered Institute for Personnel and Development, or equivalent knowledge of current legislation and good practice relevant to DEI.
