DATA PROTECTION ANALYSTLocation either: STOCKPORT/BOURNEMOUTH/LONDONHYBRID ROLESupporting the Group Head of Data Protection (DPO) you will ensure that the data protection function is effective and meeting business and regulatory requirements. You will assist in the development and maturity of the data protection framework in line with the company’s operating model and ensure customer and employee personal data is adequately protected, and that appropriate controls and mitigating actions are in place to manage identified data protection risks.Responsibilities
  • Support the Group Head of Data Protection in the delivery of Data Protection compliance through diligent delivery of responsibilities.
  • Undertake health checks of business areas to determine and confirm compliance. 
  • Conduct regular data audits to ensure data protection compliance and monitor potential data issues.
  • Help develop and deliver data protection training to all staff business-wide.
  • Oversee the Data Protection business incident register.
  • Provide professional advice and guidance to the business on data protection processes, controls, and best practice.
  • Providing timely support to the identification and quantification of Data Protection Risks arising from new business activities/project or strategic initiatives including Privacy Impact Assessments, where applicable.
  • Oversee the Data Subject Right Requests in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in the development, maintenance, implementation, and improvement of the data protection framework (policy, processes, controls, and best practice).
  • Participate in business forums, and following up on agreed activities. 
  • Provide support and advise all business areas, including First line regarding good practice compliance standards and processes. 

 Skills

  • A professional certification such as: PC.dp (Practitioner’s Certificate in Data Protection) or CIPP/E or the willingness to undertake an amount of self-study to achieve one
  • Knowledge of the European and global privacy environment
  • The United Kingdom data privacy landscape
  • Resolving data breach events
  • Managing production of data subject rights
  • Resolving technical DP queries
  • Influencing key stakeholders from varying levels of a business
  • Developing and launching regulatory training guides
  • Proactive problem-solving within a complex organisation

  • Ability to apply pragmatic solutions to complex problems
  • Ability to influence key decision makers in respect of potential strategic changes
