Responsibilities:

  • Ensure timely responses to Freedom of Information, Environmental Information, and Data Subject Access Requests.
  • Maintain and track information rights requests using the Council's reporting tool.
  • Collaborate with information asset owners to gather necessary data for responses.
  • Provide expert advice on information rights legislation to colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Promote a culture of information rights compliance across the organisation.

Essential (Knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience):

  • In-depth knowledge of UK General Data Protection Regulation, Data Protection Act 2018, Freedom of Information Act 2000, and Environmental Information Regulations 2004.
  • Proven experience in interpreting and applying legislation to complex requests.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Desirable (Knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience):

  • FOI Practitioner certificate or equivalent experience.
  • Extensive experience in responding to complex Subject Access Requests, particularly in social care.
  • Familiarity with case management systems and data analysis.

Technologies:

  • Proficient in using reporting tools and data management systems.
