As a Deputy Programme Manager, this role supports the Programme Manager in the delivery of Defence projects. Reporting to the Control Systems Account and as a linchpin in the Project Delivery Team. You’ll have the chance to work on a high-profile control systems development programme.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serve as a liaison between project management and key stakeholders across the business.
  • Support the Programme/Account Manager to manage project relationships, including partners, suppliers, and beneficiaries, in line with agreements, supplier code of conduct and best practice stakeholder management and contract management. These relationships will be managed through effective collaboration across the stakeholder community to ensure delivery objectives are meet.
  • Support the Business Development function in pursing and capturing new opportunities through to award of the associated contract.
  • Provide robust leadership to drive team performance, competence and talent, and be a mentor and role model.

We are looking for:

  • Degree-qualified in a relevant engineering / technical subject, or commensurate experience.
  • Project Management Experience, minimum of 5 years of experience.
  • Team Leadership, with a strong aptitude for managing and developing people.
  • Able to work with people effectively at all levels, using well-developed influencing and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to deal with internal and external customers in a professional way, both in person, over the phone and by email.

Security Clearance:

  • You must be able to gain and maintain the UK-Security Check (SC).
