Bid Manager | Creative Architecture Practice | Central London

The Client

Harmonic are delighted to be working with a renowned architecture practice in Central London in their search for a Bid Manager to work across the UK and US markets. Known for their innovative and high-impact designs, this practice has a strong reputation within the commercial, residential, and cultural sectors. Their projects span both the UK and international markets, with a commitment to delivering exceptional architecture that pushes boundaries.

The Role

This Bid Manager role is a key position within the practice, responsible for managing the entire bid process from start to finish. The successful candidate will work closely with the Principal and Senior Team to create high-quality bid documents, PQQs, and competition entries. Additionally, the role involves identifying tender opportunities, writing press releases, and managing marketing collateral including newsletters, portfolios, and social media content.

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of bid writing experience in the architecture or construction sectors, with excellent written communication skills and the ability to manage multiple projects autonomously. The role also offers the opportunity to foster press relationships and pursue networking and speaking engagements for the senior team.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the full bid process, ensuring timely and quality submissions.
  • Work with senior leadership to create compelling bid documents, PQQs, competition entries, and case studies.
  • Write and maintain marketing materials such as press releases, newsletters, and social media posts, ensuring they reflect the firm's values.
  • Identify and monitor tender opportunities, sharing relevant ones with leadership.
  • Oversee the development of tailored fee structures and client proposals.
  • Build a strong understanding of the sector and the firm's unique offering.
  • Manage and update portfolios, CVs, and other marketing content.

What our client needs to see (required):

  • At least 5 years of bid writing experience
  • Experience within the architectural or interior design sectors
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and InDesign
  • A proactive and self-motivated attitude, with the ability to work autonomously

What we'd like to see:

  • Creative writing or journalism background
  • Strong experience writing bids for both UK and US projects

Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 + benefits

Start Date: ASAP

Location: West London (5 days in-office)
