Business Development ManagerJob Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for exploring and identifying new business opportunities to drive growth and expansion within the company. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of experience in a business development role, specifically within the insurance industry, with a strong understanding of both motor and non-motor insurance markets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Market Expansion: Research and identify new business opportunities and potential partners in the motor and non-motor insurance sectors.
- Strategic Partnerships: Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including insurance companies, and other industry players, to foster collaboration and create new revenue streams.
- Business Growth: Lead the development and execution of business development strategies that align with company goals and drive profitable growth in existing and new markets.
- Sales and Lead Generation: Drive the lead generation process and sales strategy for both motor and non-motor insurance products, ensuring the development of an effective pipeline.
- Customer Needs Assessment: Work closely with the marketing and product teams to understand customer needs, market trends, and competitor activities, to ensure the company is competitive in its offerings.
- Proposal Development: Prepare detailed business proposals, including pricing strategies, presentations, and reports, to present to potential clients and partners.
- Contract Negotiation: Negotiate terms and conditions of contracts, ensuring favourable agreements for the company while meeting client needs.
- Market Intelligence: Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging opportunities, and regulatory changes within the motor and non-motor insurance sectors.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams such as marketing, and operations to ensure smooth execution of business development initiatives and successful partnerships.
- Reporting: Track and report on business development progress, including KPIs, opportunities, and pipeline activities to senior management.
Qualifications:
- At least 5 years of proven experience in business development, sales, or related roles within the insurance industry.
- Strong knowledge of the motor and non-motor insurance markets.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
- Ability to analyze market trends and customer behaviour to identify new opportunities.
- Strong understanding of business strategy and financials.
- Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales and business development targets.
- Experience with contract negotiation and proposal development.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field. An advanced degree (e.g., MBA) is a plus.
- CII qualification will be an advantage.
