As the Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for establishing and nurturing long-term client relationships. Owning the full sales cycle, you will work with the marketing team to on board new Enterprise level clients.

You will also directly manage the Business Development Associate - helping them grow and develop to become valuable assets within the commercial team.

Description

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for the following key tasks:

  • Work with the leadership team to agree and develop strategies for sales aligned to the wider company objectives
  • Build and maintain a network of potential clients and partners to support the development of a robust and large pipeline of new business opportunities
  • Lead tender and proposal writing for all new business opportunities, from qualification to delivery
  • Ensure commercial opportunities are maximised by supporting existing client expansion discussions when appropriate
  • Ensure data is reported clearly to the leadership team in line with company metrics we are currently redefining
  • Manage/ Initiate new and existing client relationships, ensuring effective responses and growth opportunities
  • Actively growing your own pipeline through actively prospecting the market
  • Lead the development and growth of strong new client relationships through networking and upstream discussions to develop new business opportunities to bid on
  • Attend new business meetings and conferences
  • Collaboration with communications coordinator to plan and deliver regular marketing/PR initiatives

Responsibilities:

  • Establish clear quantitative target lists for each target market, reporting progress on a monthly basis
  • Work with project leads and APMs to develop land and expand account plans, updated quarterly for Tier 1 and 2+ clients
  • Manage the execution of monthly outbound campaigns with the wider commercial team, reporting performance to the leadership team
  • Planning and execution of monthly new business travel schedule
  • Owner of Hubspot within the business, developing and expanding its use within the company
  • People management: Line manage Business Development Associate. Provide guidance and support to the account

Profile

The successful Business Development Manager candidate will have the following:

  • Experience with owning the full 360 sales cycle
  • Experience managing long and complex sales cycles in order to secure six figure deals
  • Experience with Hubspot or similar CRM
  • Experience with Google Suite
  • Experience leading and generating high quality client relationships
  • Experience creating and running outbound communications activities
  • Experience of working in a consultancy / agency environment
  • Knowldege of the Wayfinding industry would be a huge plus but not essential
