We are looking for a Business Development Manager to join a highly recognised insurance Broker specialising in technology, cyber, clean tech and renewables risks.

What You Can Expect

Main Responsibilities as a Business Development Manager

  • Actively identify and pursue new business opportunities through cold calling, email campaigns, networking, referral generation, online research and LinkedIn.
  • Building strong relationships with prospective clients.
  • Conducting thorough needs assessments to understand clients’ business operations, challenges and risk exposures.
  • Building a strong pipeline of new business opportunities, with a focus on getting face time with potential customers.
  • Analyse client data and identify potential gaps in their current insurance coverage.
  • Develop and present customised insurance solutions, including policy recommendations.
  • Effectively present proposals and negotiate terms with potential clients.
  • Working closely with a Senior Director during the closing process to ensure clients are consulted on the identified risks and suitable insurance policy.
  • Maintaining accurate records of all sales activities and track progress towards targets.
  • Exceeding quarterly targets through consistent pipeline building and hunting new business opportunities effectively.

Core Experience, Qualifications, and Skills

  • Minimum of 5+ years in business development.
  • Track record of exceeding sales targets, ideally closing £100,000+ in new business annually.
  • Full Driving License and access to a vehicle is essential.
  • Experience selling to C-Suite leaders, specifically Financial Directors.
  • Experience selling technical services or complex services is strongly preferred.
  • A highly personable individual with a drive to succeed.
  • Experience selling Insurance policies would be desirable.
  • A strong network of tech contacts in the Cambridge, Oxford, Watford or Hertfordshire area would be of interest.
