Business Development Manager

We are looking for an experienced Business Development professional to join this leading UK law firm within their Energy, Infrastructure, and Natural Resources sector. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone eager to step up into a BD Manager role and make a significant impact in a priority growth area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead BD Initiatives: Drive business development initiatives for the IEN practice group, collaborating closely with partners and the Knowledge team.
  • Relationship Building: Develop and maintain strong relationships with partners, supporting their personal BD activities and conducting regular meetings.
  • Strategic Planning: Shape and implement business plans with practice partners and the Knowledge team, ensuring focused and effective strategies.
  • Client Acquisition: Identify and pursue new client acquisition opportunities, including appropriate targets and routes to market.
  • Marketing Communications: Manage and implement marketing communications programmes to raise the profile of the practice group.
  • Client Support: Assist partners in preparing credentials, pitches, and client-facing materials, and support them in client BD meetings.
  • Event Management: Design and shape relevant and targeted events, ensuring maximum return on investment.
  • Content Development: Work with partners and the Knowledge team to identify and produce content of interest to clients and targets, ensuring timely and appropriate distribution.
  • Collaboration: Support senior associates with their BD activities, providing guidance and best practices.
  • Research Management: Oversee client and target research processes, ensuring clear objectives and alignment with the IEN strategy.

What's needed:

  • Strong BD and Marketing experience at a senior executive or manager level in legal or professional services.
  • Proactive, entrepreneurial, and self-motivated with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to build strong business relationships and foster an inclusive team culture.
