The ICAEW Academy of Professional Development delivers a comprehensive range of learning solutions for every stage of professional development, designed for finance teams and finance leaders. This role sits within the Academy and broader ICAEW Commercial team.

The role of Client Relationship Manager:

Reporting to the Head of CPD Programming & Operations, this role offers a unique opportunity to impact the professional development of individuals in the accountancy and finance sectors, whilst driving growth of ICAEW's commercial CPD portfolio.

The Client Relationship Manager is responsible for managing their own clients and programmes, while also supervising the programme team whose remit is to ensure that sold activity is delivered to plan, to budget, on time and to a high standard to meet the long-term growth objectives for the business.

In this role, you will be responsible for managing key internal and external stakeholders. You will ensure a consistent approach for all B2B & B2C activities and maintain the highest quality standards reflecting the rigorous standards of the accountancy and finance profession.

You will lead a dedicated team, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration, and have full responsibility for the department's budget, ensuring financial forecasts align to ICAEW's broader organisational objectives.

Client Relationship Manager Responsibilities include:

Client and Talent Programme Management

  • Oversee the successful end-to-end planning and delivery of all Talent Development Programmes. With the Head of CPD Programming & Operations, build and manage the trainer pool, lead on all delegate communications, including feedback calls and collaborate on programme improvement discussions and implementation.
  • Oversee successful end-to-end deliveries of all allocated B2B Academy clients, working with the Academy Business Development (BD) Team, to ensure you understand the client's needs and that all training exceeds expectations.
  • Support the BD Team to help define the needs of our key corporate clients by introducing client relationship management best practices and, where appropriate, management of specific key client relationships and deliveries.
  • Work together with the BD Managers to build relationships with new as well as existing key clients to foster meaningful relationships and drive growth through repeat business.

Supplier and Content management

  • Partner with the Head of CPD Programming & Operations and the Senior CPD Manager, to help effectively manage the relationships with Academy trainers, ensuring all of our interactions and processes are aligned, efficient and effective.
  • Work with key internal stakeholders and implement robust processes to track and manage the IP and content of the Academy, ensuring we protect and optimise our offering.
  • Work with the Head of CPD Programming & Operations and Business Development Managers to identify new suppliers that will enhance ICAEW training offering and drive commercial growth and onboard them in line with ICAEW onboarding protocols.

Team

  • Manage and develop a team that is highly engaged, commercially focused and aligned to the growth of the Academy. Develop their knowledge, understanding, skills, attitude and behaviour to enhance performance to successfully deliver the Academy objectives.

Financial

  • Responsible for full budget management, reporting and forecasting for the B2B Academy portfolio. Work with key stakeholders to positively influence strategic business decisions.

Candidate Profile

Requirements include:

  • Previous account/client relationship management experience essential.
  • Proven experience in budget management and financial forecasting.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal / influencing skills.
  • Proven project / time management and multi-tasking skills.
