Due to rapid and exciting business growth, a fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Property Lending Relationship Manager to join the Retentions team at a boutique financial services company based in central London. Our client, a specialist lending company, is seeking a Junior Relationship Manager with strong property lending experience, to serve as a point of contact for existing clients, and to assist with their additional borrowing needs. Due to the technical nature of the role, candidates must have experience with either bridging or Buy to Let lending.

Duties of the Retentions Relationship Manager to include:

  • Client Relationship Management:
  • Act as the main point of contact for existing clients in your portfolio, handling inquiries and additional borrowing requests.
  • Proactively connect with assigned clients, introducing yourself as their dedicated relationship manager and outlining available support.
  • Prioritize client satisfaction and a positive borrowing experience by providing excellent customer service and technical support to maximize retention.
  • Collaborate with the loan portfolio management team to prioritize client engagement and ensure loan redemptions within their terms.
  • Identifying Lending Opportunities:
  • Identify and fund new lending opportunities by reconnecting with former clients.
  • Analyze existing client portfolios to identify potential funding needs.
  • Refinance current loans and facilitate transitions between products to improve client retention.
  • Proactively identify and engage potential direct clients (non-brokered) through market research.
  • Internal & External Collaboration:
  • Work closely with internal teams (loan management, legal, etc.) to drive relationship management strategy.
  • Maintain relationships with underwriting teams to support new loan funding.
  • Communicate with external stakeholders as needed.
  • General Responsibilities & Expectations:
  • Continuously improve relationship management processes and strategies.
  • Support the underwriting process for retention loans, including document review.
  • Regularly evaluate company practices to ensure optimal client satisfaction.
  • Proactively and promptly address client complaints and issues.
  • Maintain detailed pipelines of future lending opportunities and completed cases.
  • Conduct client satisfaction surveys and collaborate on improvements.

Requirements for the successful Retentions Relationship Manager:

  • Candidates must have proven experience working as a relationship manager capacity within property lending.
  • Knowledge and experience of bridging and/or buy to let lending IS ESSENTIAL
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise with clients in person and over the phone
  • Business development skills and technical understanding of the company’s products and services to promote and suggest them to clients.
