I have recently partnered with a cloud-based SaaS start-up business to recruit a Sales Director to join thi small but rapidly growing business on a permanent basis.
The business is a cloud-based, holistic compliance solution which delivers clear, consistent IR35 assessments. The platform combines the company's technical expertise with their hands-on experience working with multinational organisations to apply the rules, and with HMRC to develop the associated government guidance.
Your new role


The company is looking for an experienced Sales Director who has worked within the SaaS industry selling a product that can save businesses both time and money. They are seeking an individual who has worked within a start-up environment previously and will be comfortable being the first salesperson in the company. The ideal candidate will need to have experience of implementing a company-wide sales strategy and have worked with marketing to put together an overall commercial plan which they can then execute.
This role will be responsible for the following:
Develop overall strategies, define the blueprint for long term new business sales and profitability, ensuring the ability to adapt to industry and market conditions
Sales Planning and Execution:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive sales plan to achieve revenue targets and exceed quotas.
  • Identify key prospects, build a robust pipeline, and prioritise opportunities for maximum impact.
  • Leverage our market intelligence and competitor analysis to position our offerings effectively within each account.


Consultative Selling:

  • Establish trusted advisor relationships with senior executives and key stakeholders.
  • Conduct thorough needs analysis and align the business to address client challenges and goals.
  • Demonstrate expertise in articulating business and technical solutions and guiding clients through the buying process.


Relationship Building:

  • Cultivate and expand existing client relationships, consistently delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams, such as product management, marketing, and product development, to ensure customer success and satisfaction.


Negotiation and Deal Closure:

  • Lead contract negotiations, ensuring win-win outcomes for both the client and


What you'll need to succeed

  • Demonstrated experience of a software/tech/SaaS product sale.
  • Strong demonstrated and proven software sales experience.
  • Knowledgeable/experienced in the tech space and up-to-date on the newest technologies and industry trends.
  • Strong pipeline analysis and opportunity forecasting skills
  • Exceptional multitasking and prioritisation skills
  • SaaS sales experience with a high growth B2B software vendor.
  • A strong track record of consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets in a competitive environment.
  • Deep experience as a "hunter" profile focusing on new logo business in a direct sales team.
  • Demonstrated the ability to build and maintain long-term client relationships at the executive level.
  • Solid experience of selling a technical solution to business and FinanceTech buyers is a preference
