About the role of Sales Manager / Head of Sales

With the opportunity of working from the London office and flexibility to work remotely 3 days a week, our client is seeking a bright, motivated, and enthusiastic Sales Manager / Head of Sales to lead, manage, coach and develop a team of subscription sales professionals / Business Development Managers.

As Sales Manager you will:

  • Own the sales number - responsible for managing the subscription sales team of 7 Business Development Managers and Account Managers (likely to grow next year) and deliver against revenue targets.
  • Lead from the front by managing your own book of business whilst driving the sales team forward to exceed sales revenue targets
  • Develop and maintain accurate sales forecasts - monitor pipeline with sales staff to ensure sales efficiency.
  • Ensure sales and operational excellence across the sales team to give your team the best opportunity of hitting and exceeding sales revenue targets.
  • Lead by example and coach / motivate / manage your team to become sales superstars.
  • Develop long term vision and strategy for the sales team and manage day to day operations with a focus on performance against key sales metrics.
  • Recruit, hire and develop a world class sales team to support growth targets.
  • Collaborate with other stakeholders across the business to maximise sales efficiency and revenue growth opportunities.

About You

Ideally you will have a background in B 2 B subscription sales with a track record of selling and managing sales teams who have sold business information / business intelligence, market data or SAAS. If you have worked for a PRA (Price Reporting Agency) or within the Commodity Data space this would be beneficial but not essential.

Other core skills / experience we are looking for include:

  • Sales Management experience - experience of managing and leading a minimum of 5+ Sales people / BDMs in a subscription sales environment. This can either be as a Team Leader / Player Manager or as a Sales Manager / Head of Sales (minimum of 2 years sales management experience is required for this role)
  • Exceptional sales coaching ability and able to coach and inspire others.
  • Experience of working for a startup / scale up - motivated to work for a fast-paced growth stage start up.
  • Experience of instilling a sales culture and implementing sales processes (metrics, forecasting, CRM management etc.)
  • Track record of coaching, managing on a one-to-one basis and implementing sales processes / KPI’s etc.
