Senior Business Development Manager
An exciting brand new Senior Business Development Manager role has come to market for a leading global law firm to provide support across their IP and Tech team. This Snr BD Manager role offers the chance to lead a talented team and drive business development initiatives across multiple practice groups. The position can be based in any of their regional offices, including London, Manchester, Glasgow, Edinburgh, or Sheffield.
As the Senior Business Development Manager, you will play a pivotal role in supporting and leading an integrated global group. This includes the Technology & Media, IP & Competition teams, as well as the Consumer & Retail and TMT sectors. You will be responsible for planning and implementing all business development and marketing activities in line with the firm's strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Business Planning & Budgeting: Contribute to the annual business planning and budgeting process, ensuring activities are prioritized and implemented within budget.
- BD Infrastructure: Maintain a robust BD infrastructure, including standard pitch content, client mailing lists, and target client lists.
- Pitching: Support and lead pitches, collaborate with other practice groups, and conduct pitch reviews.
- Campaigns: Develop and execute marketing and thought leadership campaigns aligned with firmwide priorities.
- Events: Contribute to and support the execution of seminars and events.
- Client Targeting: Support activities aimed at targeting potential clients and developing existing client relationships.
- Communications/PR: Work with the Communications team to develop a meaningful market proposition.
- Directory and Award Submissions: Ensure submissions are prioritized and reflect consistent messaging about the firm.
- Team Management: Oversee and provide guidance to a team of BD Managers and Executives, including appraisals and training.
What's needed:
- Extensive experience in business development and marketing within a law firm environment
- Proven track record in managing small teams
- Experience of building strong working relationships with partners and colleagues at all levels
