An established, renowned Education Trust is looking for a part-time ongoing temporary Governance Officer to work three days a week in the office on a Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 9am - 5:30pm.

Based near Charing Cross, this role is to start on Tuesday 18th March on an ongoing basis.

As Governance Officer, duties will include:

  • Preparing papers for Sub-Committees Organising meeting dates for Sub-Committees and the Trust Board
  • Attending meetings to take and produce accurate minutes
  • Liaising with local academy councils and clerks regarding queries
  • Dealing with applications for new councillors
  • Sending papers to trustees and committee members
  • Liaising with schools and trustees to organise appeal panels
  • Adhering to policy schedule to ensure new policies are completed and included in Committee and Board packs
  • Liaising with HR leads regarding newly ratified policies and uploading them on their respective websites
  • Dealing with Trustee inductions packs
  • Attending meetings with the Chair and CEO to discuss Governance matters
  • General governance admin

Experience needed:

  • Some governance and/or clerking
  • Minute taking
  • Strong admin skills
  • Excellent IT skills in MS Office, Teams and Adobe Acrobat
  • School experience is desirable but not essential
