Technical Team Lead - eFX Team

Our prestigious Global Investment Bank client has a fantastic initial 12-month contract for a Technical Team Lead to join its  eFX technology team that are responsible for a suite of applications and services that are crucial to the eFX business line. You will be focusing on developing low latency services in Java, including market data, pricing, and price distribution. This high-profile position reports directly to the Head of eFX IT and involves hands-on development work as well as team leadership responsibilities.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience: Extensive experience in programming with Java, including multithreading, low latency, and garbage collection-aware techniques. Experience in designing and building real-time mission-critical applications and message bus technology is highly desirable.
  • Skills:
    • Deep knowledge of Java and performance monitoring.
    • Familiarity with C#, Linux and networking technologies such as 10GbE and multicast.
    • Knowledge of FIX interfaces and FIX packages.
    • Experience with front office systems within the FX business or quantitative finance.
    • UNIX OS knowledge and an understanding of software delivery processes and methodologies.Day-to-day of the role:
    • Lead the SharpFX team in developing pricing, hedging, and low latency order and price distribution systems for the eFX desk.
    • Work closely with stakeholders from the Front Office and IT to take requirements and develop solutions that support pricing/trading algorithms and ultimately P&L.
    • Guide the team’s technical direction and assignments, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
    • Perform analysis in a high-frequency, low-latency environment to optimize system performance.
    • Provide technical assistance and third-line support to internal Production Support teams.
    • Participate in software releases, which may include out-of-hours or weekend work.
    • Engage in sprint planning, estimation, and provide regular status updates to project managers.
