What you will do:

  • Manage the day-to-day operational business of the team, overseeing a dedicated group of social workers responsible for safeguarding and promoting children's best interests in line with statutory frameworks.
  • Ensure services align with Government policies, legislation, council policies, and departmental procedures, always aiming for the highest quality and customer-focus.
  • Provide leadership to frontline staff, implementing policy changes and ensuring smooth service delivery.
  • Advise senior management on strategy, policy, and future directions, ensuring effective feedback for continual improvement.
  • Lead efforts to meet performance targets, establishing and communicating plans to staff and management as needed.
  • Oversee budgets and expenditures, ensuring resource optimization, adherence to financial regulations, and value for money.
