Staff Match are recruiting for a hands-on Deputy Manager to join a friendly nursery in Streatham, South London. If you have good team building skills and a passion for early years and excellent knowledge of EYFS curriculum, we want to hear from you.  

Person Specification:

NVQ level 3 Childcare qualification or equivalent

Experience of leading and motivating teams

Knowledge of EYFS Curriculum

Basic Food Hygiene Certificate (Desirable)

Paediatric First Aid (Desirable)

Minimum 1-year experience in a similar roleSome of the Deputy Manager responsibilities will include:

  • To support the Nursery Manager and maintain a safe a high standard of practice in accordance with the nurseries principles, policies and procedures.
  • To deploy staff effectively to ensure the required standards are maintained
  • To ensure all staff understand and comply with all nursery policy and procedures
  • To lead the team and support in EYFS planning and ensure children’s development records are maintained
  • To carry our regular staff supervisions and coordinate staff meetings
  • To support the Nursery Manager with recruiting, inducting, supporting, training and appraising all staff to deliver high quality childcare practice
  • To promote diversity and equal opportunity
  • To work in partnership with parents forming caring and trusting relationships
  • To ensure professionalism and confidentiality at all times
