Ackerman Pierce is delighted to be recruiting for a Team Manager within the Supporting Disabled Children Service in Wandsworth. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced manager to lead a dedicated social work team supporting disabled children and their families.

About the Role

As a Team Manager, you will oversee a team providing a full spectrum of social work services for disabled children, including:

  • Assessments and care planning.
  • Supporting children subject to Child in Need and Child Protection Plans.
  • Managing cases in pre-proceedings under the Public Law Outline (PLO) and care proceedings.
  • Providing services for Looked After Children.
  • Working closely with multi-agency partners to ensure holistic, needs-led support.

You will play a pivotal role in shaping and improving practice, ensuring the highest quality service delivery, and driving positive outcomes for children and families. This role requires innovation, leadership, and a strong commitment to safeguarding and person-centred care.

What We're Looking For

We are seeking a passionate and experienced manager who:

  • Holds a Social Work qualification and is registered with Social Work England.
  • Has significant post-qualification experience, ideally within children's disability services.
  • Demonstrates strong leadership skills and experience managing social work teams.
  • Is committed to developing practice and improving outcomes for children and families.
  • Has experience working within statutory frameworks and leading on child protection, court proceedings, and care planning.
  • Has excellent partnership-working skills to collaborate effectively with multi-agency partners.
