Key Responsibilities:

Planning and Teaching:
-
Develop and deliver imaginative and stimulating lessons that align with the EYFS framework, promoting learning through play and hands-on experiences.

Use a variety of teaching methods to meet the individual needs of children, fostering their physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development.

Create an inviting, safe, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages exploration and independence.

Assessment and Progress Monitoring:
-
Regularly observe and assess children's progress, using formative and summative assessment strategies to inform planning.
-
Maintain accurate records and produce individual learning plans to support each child’s growth.
-
Complete Learning Journals and other required documentation, celebrating achievements and identifying next steps.

Pastoral Care and Well-Being:
-
Build warm and supportive relationships with children, promoting positive behaviour and social skills.

Ensure that the physical and emotional well-being of every child is a top priority.

Promote British Values and foster a respectful, caring community within the classroom.

Collaboration and Communication:

Work closely with teaching assistants and other EYFS staff to ensure consistency and continuity of care and education.

Engage with parents and carers through regular communication, meetings, and progress reports.

Contribute to the wider school community through participation in events, assemblies, and extracurricular activities.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Qualifications and Experience:
-
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with a focus on Early Years Education.
-
Proven experience teaching in Nursery and/or Reception settings.
-
A thorough understanding of the EYFS framework and early childhood development.
-

Skills and Attributes:

Passionate about early years education, with a creative and nurturing approach to teaching.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, building positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.

Excellent organisational skills with the ability to plan, assess, and manage time effectively.
