We are seeking a Deputy Manager to support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day operations of a children's home. This role is crucial for maintaining high standards of care and ensuring the home operates effectively in compliance with relevant legislation and guidelines. The Deputy Manager will play a key role in managing staff, overseeing the home's administration, and ensuring the welfare of the young people in our care.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Assist the Registered Manager in managing and developing the home, ensuring high-quality service delivery that meets the needs of young people.
  • Deputise for the Registered Manager as needed, taking full responsibility for the home during their absence.
  • Oversee the implementation of care plans, behaviour management plans, and risk assessments, ensuring they meet statutory requirements and address the individual needs of young people.
  • Promote a safe, nurturing environment that supports the health, education, and welfare of young people in line with placement plans.
  • Develop professional relationships with parents, multi-agency professionals, and community members to enhance the support provided to young people.
  • Manage and support the home's staff through supervision, training, and development, ensuring high standards of care are maintained.
  • Ensure compliance with financial procedures, manage budgets, and plan financial needs of the home effectively.
  • Maintain professional standards and represent the organisation positively in all dealings with external parties.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in a similar role within a children's residential care setting.
  • Strong understanding of the Children's Homes Regulations, Quality Standards, and relevant legislation.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, capable of developing and motivating others.
  • Level 3 Children and Young people and a minimum of 1 year experience of supervising experience.
