Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency has a new permanent position available for a Head of Children’s Programmes to work full time based in Haringey.The salary for this permanent Head of Children’s Programmes job is up to £92,969 per annum. Main duties:

  • To take lead responsibility for the strategic delivery of programmes and capital projects arising from the relevant service priorities and ensuring alignment when appropriate with the corporate plan and children’s capital programme.
  • To communicate a compelling view of the future – producing relevant strategies, frameworks and Programme plans based on needs assessment, intelligence and evidence base recognising the need to offer adaptable responses to changing needs.
  • To actively engage with a wide range of stakeholders to develop outcomes that will be monitored and reviewed to ensure positive impact for children and families.
  • To lead and manage a service area, ensuring regular recorded support and supervision, annual appraisal and access to Continual Professional Development (CPD) opportunities to ensure workforce retention.
  • Develop and implement service standards, outlining expectations and ways of working ensuring clear responsibilities and accountability.
  • Develop and present detailed business cases, including financial modelling outlining rational, resource requirements, benefits to the organisation and impact for children, young people and families.
  • Ensure the preparation of detailed programme plans that include key deliverables, timelines, risk management control and resource requirements.
  • Lead and oversee the delivery of each new facility/development ensuring effective management controls are in place and compliance with legislative and statutory requirements including OFSTED registration.
  • Produce and resent regular reports and actively engage with a wide range of stakeholders including elected members, to develop outcomes that will be monitored and reviewed to ensure positive impact for children, young people and families.
  • Develop and implement service standards, outlining expectations and ways of working ensuring clear responsibilities and accountability.
  • Respond to complaints and members enquiries with agreed timescales.
  • Deputise for Assistant Director as required.
  • Undertake any other duties consistent with the objectives and duties of the post.

Requirements of this role:

  • Social work qualification with registration with Social Work England.
  • Knowledge and experience at a management level of working with Local Authority and Council systems and processes.
  • A recognised management qualification or evidence of participation on an organisational leadership or management development programme.
  • Experience in managing social work caseloads and supervising others.
  • Experience of community and/or group work.
  • Knowledge of children’s health and social care systems, agencies, and relevant legislation.
