- Provide safe, high-quality education and care for children attending the nursery.
- Fulfil legal and statutory requirements and to supervise staff on a day-to-day basis.
- Contribute to and implement policies.
- Lead a team, manage effectively and efficiently, uphold positive working relationships and be an effective mentor.
- Manage the provision of the nursery ensuring that children, parents and the staff team work together to provide high quality childcare.
- Be responsible for the management of day-to-day financial operations by meeting financial targets and managing the occupancy ensuring maximum capacity.
- Agree and set nursery goals and monitor the achievement of progress against targets.
- Monitor and assess the quality of provision ensuring that policies and procedures, best practice and standards are maintained.
- Create a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn and grow.
- Collaborate with parents and other staff members to support children's individual needs.
- Follow health and safety guidelines to ensure the well-being of all children
- Minimum Level 3 Montessori Pedagogy qualification (or other full and relevant Early Years qualification)
- Team Leadership/Management experience
- Nursery experience
- Excellent working knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage and current Ofsted statutory guidance.
- Knowledge and proven practical experience of implementing good quality learning opportunities.
- Knowledge of and commitment to child protection, health and safety, equal opportunities and SEN/Inclusion
- Experience of working as a key worker for a group of children and their families
- Ability to observe, assess and report on children's behaviour
