Role Overview:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Team Manager to join our Children's Services at the Maya Angelou Family Centre. This pivotal role involves leading a dedicated team of social workers and ensuring the delivery of high-quality services to children and families. You will work in partnership with statutory and third-sector organisations to drive positive change and maintain exceptional service standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Team Leadership: Provide effective leadership and support to a team of social workers, ensuring high-quality service delivery and adherence to legislative requirements.
  • Work Allocation: Manage and prioritise the team's workload efficiently, optimising resource use and maintaining high standards of practice.
  • Supervision and Development: Offer regular, reflective supervision, conduct performance appraisals, and promote continuous professional development for team members.
  • Policy and Practice Development: Contribute to the development of practice and policy initiatives within Children's Services, staying updated with field developments and collaborating to improve service delivery.
  • Partnership Working: Facilitate effective partnerships with parents, carers, other professionals, and partner agencies to achieve the best outcomes for children and young people.
  • Financial Management: Oversee financial commitments related to children's needs, ensuring adherence to Best Value principles and identifying efficiencies.
  • Quality Assurance: Engage in quality assurance processes, including audits, to promote best practices and continuous improvement.
About You:

You will be a skilled and compassionate social work professional with strong management and communication abilities. Essential criteria include:

  • A relevant Social Work qualification and registration with Social Work England (SWE).
  • At least 5 years of post-qualification experience, preferably in a similar setting.
  • Previous management experience in social work is desirable.
  • Demonstrated capability in managing individual caseloads and optimising resource use.
  • A commitment to delivering high-quality services with the welfare of children central to decision-making.
