We are seeking an Associate Director - Electrical to lead the electrical design and integration for a major rail infrastructure project in London. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced electrical engineer to play a key role in a high-profile development.
Role Overview:
As an Associate Director - Electrical, you will take the lead in the design, planning, and coordination of electrical systems for a major rail station project. Acting as the Electrical CRE, you will ensure all technical, safety, and quality standards are met while driving innovation and efficiency within the team. The role requires a hybrid working approach, with up to four days on-site in London to ensure seamless project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the Electrical CRE, ensuring all electrical design and engineering work meets compliance, safety, and project requirements.
- Lead and coordinate a multidisciplinary design team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
- Oversee the planning, scheduling, and execution of electrical engineering activities, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Review and approve technical documentation, design specifications, and engineering deliverables.
- Manage interfaces between electrical systems, rail infrastructure, and other disciplines to ensure integration and efficiency.
- Engage with stakeholders, clients, and project teams, representing the electrical design function in key meetings and decision-making processes.
- Ensure compliance with UK rail and engineering standards, including BIM Level 2 Accreditation.
- Provide leadership and mentoring to junior engineers and team members.
Required Experience & Qualifications:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering (or related field).
- Chartered Engineer/Technician status (or working towards it).
- Proven experience in a leadership role within rail, infrastructure, or major transport projects.
- Experience as a CRE (Contractor's Responsible Engineer) or Engineering Manager on complex projects.
- Strong knowledge of UK rail standards, electrical design principles, and BIM integration.
- Ability to manage multiple project interfaces, ensuring smooth coordination between teams.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and leadership skills.
