We are currently seeking an ambitious and skilled Senior Building Performance Engineer to join an established and highly reputable design consultancy, based in Central London. As a global leader in design and engineering, their diverse team work on some of the most prestigious and innovative projects in the UK and across the world.
Due to a huge increase in their workload, we are currently looking for a Senior Building Performance Engineer to join their established building performance team.
Their building performance team is at the heart of the built environment’s response to the global ecological and climate emergencies. They collaborate with clients and design teams to develop strategies and designs to decarbonise existing buildings.
Responsibilities
This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate and motivated Senior Engineer to join their team in London, to work on some of the most exciting retrofit projects in the UK and around the world.
Working under the guidance and supervision of more experienced staff, you will develop your existing knowledge and skills in building services design and modelling to assist with the development of decarbonisation strategies for existing buildings. Over time you will be supported and encouraged to work towards Chartership, through one of their accredited training schemes.
 The role will include supporting and developing some of their key work streams:
•             Building physics and thermal modelling
•             Design for performance, predictive energy modelling and operational energy assessments
        (TM54 and DfP)
•             Building Regulations
•             Building services design
Qualifications
Educated to Bachelors/Masters level in Engineering and having gained relevant practical experience in a similar role, you have demonstrable knowledge and experience of building physics, particularly in relation to heat transfer, energy, comfort criteria, CIBSE Guidance and other industry standards.
Knowledge of dynamic simulation software and the UK Building Regulations, including an understanding of the National Calculation Methodology is essential, as is a good understanding of mechanical design.
Given the collaborative and client focussed nature of this role, effective communication skills and some experience of using your initiative to overcome challenges are essential.
