The Role:The Project Manager with an electrical bias will be responsible for overseeing the successful delivery of retail fit-out projects, focusing on electrical installations and systems. Based out of NW London , the role involves frequent travel to various project sites, where the Project Manager will manage multiple live retail environment projects, ensuring minimal disruption to operations. You will oversee 2-3 projects at a time, with project durations typically ranging from 4 to 16 weeks. The post-holder will collaborate closely with clients, contractors, and on-site teams to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management:
- Oversee all electrical aspects of 2-3 retail fit-out projects, ensuring compliance with client specifications and industry standards.
- Manage the entire project lifecycle, from initial planning to final handover, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Coordinate electrical installations, upgrades, and maintenance in live retail environments with minimal disruption to business operations.
- Site Coordination:
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, ensuring electrical works are installed correctly and meet safety standards.
- Supervise subcontractors and on-site teams, ensuring quality workmanship and compliance with project plans.
- Resolve any issues that may arise during the project, ensuring swift resolution to avoid delays.
- Client and Stakeholder Management:
- Act as the key point of contact for clients regarding electrical works, ensuring their expectations are met or exceeded.
- Liaise with clients to understand their specific electrical requirements and ensure these are integrated into the project.
- Maintain strong relationships with all stakeholders, including contractors, suppliers, and consultants.
- Health, Safety, and Environmental:
- Set a high personal example of safety and ensure all electrical work complies with health and safety regulations.
- Conduct safety audits, site briefings, and ensure that any health and safety issues are addressed immediately.
- Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and practices, minimizing risks on site.
- Financial Management:
- Monitor and control project budgets, ensuring cost-effective solutions are implemented.
- Approve invoices and ensure timely procurement of electrical equipment and materials.
- Report on financial performance and ensure projects remain within agreed budget parameters.
- Strong project management experience with an emphasis on electrical systems within retail fit-out projects.
- Proven background in managing projects in live environments where retail operations continue during the fit-out.
- Experience with Sainsbury's projects or similar retail clients is highly desirable.
- Excellent knowledge of electrical installations, safety regulations, and compliance standards.
- Effective leadership and team management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and teams simultaneously.
- Strong client relationship management skills, able to communicate clearly and manage expectations.
- Ability to manage project budgets and control costs effectively.
- Experience with large retail clients such as Sainsburys.
- Relevant electrical qualifications (e.g., 18th Edition, C&G 2391) or professional certifications.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations specific to electrical work.
- Permanent position with a salary range of £65,000 - £70,000 per annum.
