Seeking an experienced Estimator to join a tier 1 main contractor to work on a major infrastructure project within the rail sector. The role is based in Central London and offers hybrid working flexibility.

About the role of Estimator

As an Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for a significant rail infrastructure project. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the financial feasibility and profitability of the project, utilising your expertise in Primavera P6 to manage project time lines and budgets effectively.

Responsibilities for Estimator

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates and tender submissions for the rail infrastructure project
  • Manage project time lines, budgets, and resources using Primavera P6
  • Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to gather accurate cost data
  • Assess risk and develop strategies to mitigate cost overruns
  • Present cost estimates to management and clients, ensuring transparency and clarity
  • Support project planning and decision-making with accurate financial data

Requirements for Estimator

  • Minimum 5 years of post-qualification experience in the civil engineering sector
  • Strong experience working on large-scale infrastructure projects, ideally within the rail sector
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6 is essential
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a hybrid working environment
