We are currently seeking an experienced Fabric Engineer to join a highly regarded team in a stunning Grade 1 listed building near Waterloo Train Station. This is a temp-to-perm role offering the opportunity to work in a prestigious and heritage-rich environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct a variety of fabric-related maintenance tasks including minor repairs to building structure, walls, floors, doors, windows, ceilings, and internal finishes.
  • Ensure the fabric of the building is maintained to the highest standards, preserving the heritage and integrity of the Grade 1 listed building.
  • Carry out both planned and reactive maintenance, ensuring that any issues are addressed promptly to minimize disruption.
  • Maintain a high level of cleanliness and tidiness in all work areas, ensuring health and safety protocols are followed.
  • Assist with any building-related issues, liaising with contractors and other teams as necessary.
  • Comply with building regulations and heritage conservation guidelines to preserve the building's historic features.
  • Perform general fabric repairs such as redecoration, joinery, and minor construction works.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience in fabric engineering, with a strong understanding of building maintenance and fabric repairs.
  • Experience working within a heritage or Grade 1 listed building is highly preferred.
  • Ability to carry out a wide range of tasks including basic joinery, plastering, brickwork, and painting.
  • Excellent knowledge of building materials and techniques used in the maintenance of older buildings.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
  • A good understanding of health and safety standards, particularly in relation to building maintenance.
  • A relevant qualification in building maintenance or construction is advantageous.
