Platform Engineering Manager - £100K Hybrid London

An excellent opportunity has arisen in a Financial Services organisation, who are looking for an experienced Platform Engineering Manager to join their dynamic team in London where youll be focusing mainly on infrastructure and security programmes.

In this position, you will lead intricate, cross-functional projects focused on improving the scalability, security, cost-efficiency, and reliability of their infrastructure. Youll collaborate with engineering, security, product, and operations teams to plan, execute, and deliver large-scale programs that support the organisation's strategic objectives.

Responsibilities
:
  • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of infrastructure and security programmes, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget
  • Collaborate with engineering, security, operations, and business teams to define programme objectives, timelines, and success metrics
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, roadmaps, and documentation to ensure clear communication and alignment across teams
  • Identify and manage risks, issues, and dependencies, ensuring proactive problem-solving and mitigation strategies are in place
  • Ensure alignment between infrastructure and security initiatives and broader organisational objectives, driving programme success
  • Monitor programme performance and progress, providing regular updates to senior leadership and stakeholders
  • Facilitate communication and coordination between technical teams, business units, and external vendors to ensure smooth programme execution

Essential skills and experience:
  • 5 years of hands-on experience in software engineering, infrastructure, security, big data and analytics, or cloud networking
  • 2+ years of experience in technical programme management, ideally with a focus on infrastructure or security programmes
  • Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure (AWS or similar), networking, and security principles
  • Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional teams and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Fluent in English and Russian. This role requires communicating with team members across the globe

Desired skills and experience:
  • Proven experience delivering large-scale, complex infrastructure and security projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple programmes simultaneously
  • Familiarity with security compliance frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR) and best practices
  • Familiarity with agile software development methodologies
