A London based design consultancy offering expertise in building services engineering, sustainability and energy consultancy are looking for an Associate Building Physics Consultant to join their London team.

About the role
For this position they are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join the team as an Associate within their Energy team, specialising in operational energy and building performance. In this role, you will engage in building energy modelling across the business, helping to deliver net zero carbon performance to meet client and national NZC targets and advising clients on how to reduce the carbon emissions in their existing operations. You will be a key team member, embedded in the design from planning through to design and construction to in use. As part of this role you will also be mentoring and training junior members of the team.

Responsibilities
The following list provides the key responsibilities:
- Building performance and passive design analysis.
- Operational energy assessment and reduction plans, following CISBE TM54 and NABERS DfP methodologies.
- Part L and EPC compliance modelling.
- Whole Life Cycle Carbon Assessments.
- Preparation of energy statements.
- Supporting the wider MEP design consultants.
- Preparing technical reports, calculations, and specifications.
- Attend and lead meetings and workshops with MEP engineers, sustainability consultants, architects, and other building professionals and present work undertaken.
- Manage own workload and contribute to resource planning for the team.
- Undertake training and mentoring of junior team members.

Skills and Qualifications
- 5+ years' relevant experience within a design consultancy.
- Level 5 Accredited Non-Domestic Energy Assessor, ideally using IES VE.
- Proficient with ApHVAC modelling operational energy performance of buildings.
- Demonstrable experience with London Plan and other planning policy energy statements, such as the Greater Cambridge Plan.
- Experience of liaising with a project design team and able to run workshops.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Natural curiosity and motivation to learn.
- Eligibility to live and work in the UK without restriction.
