Our client, a prominent organization in the energy and petrochemical sector, is seeking an experienced and ambitious Process Engineer to join their team at a COMAH-regulated refinery in London. This is a rare opportunity to contribute to a facility undergoing significant upgrades, delivering measurable improvements in safety, performance, and operational excellence.
In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with operations teams and discipline engineers to identify optimization opportunities, mitigate risks, and enhance Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) performance. Beyond immediate operational needs, you’ll be instrumental in driving long-term improvements in efficiency, reliability, and profitability across the plant’s value chain—from feedstock sourcing to product quality assurance.
Key Responsibilities:- Performance Optimization: Continuously monitor and analyze the performance of production units over short, medium, and long-term horizons, using advanced tools to identify optimization opportunities.
- Operational Collaboration: Partner with operations teams to troubleshoot issues and ensure production plans are delivered efficiently and effectively.
- Compliance & Reporting: Validate and submit key operational data for month-end reporting, ensuring full compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements.
- Project Support: Identify, develop, and support the implementation of small to medium-sized capital projects, including commissioning activities.
- Technical Documentation: Take ownership of critical process documents, including P&IDs, area classification drawings, plot plans, COMAH process descriptions, and major accident hazard flow schemes.
To succeed in this role, you should bring:
- Education: A degree in Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Experience: A proven track record in process engineering within a COMAH-regulated environment, preferably in the oil & gas, petrochemical, or refinery sectors.
- Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of process design, optimization, troubleshooting, and HSE best practices.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with COMAH regulations and related industry standards.
- Problem-Solving Skills: The ability to proactively identify risks, resolve operational challenges, and drive innovation.
- Teamwork: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with experience collaborating across multidisciplinary teams.
