Senior Drainage Engineer

Salary: 45,000 - 65,000

Overview: Our client is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer with expertise in drainage and highway design. The role involves delivering sustainable, innovative, and cost-effective design solutions for infrastructure projects, while exceeding client and stakeholder expectations.

Main Duties:

  • Provide specialist knowledge in drainage and highway design, including 3D surface modelling and hydraulic drainage design.
  • Represent the company in meetings with clients, contractors, and local authorities.
  • Ensure designs comply with S278/S38 highway schemes and S104/S106/S185 drainage approvals, adhering to sustainable drainage practices and current legislation.
  • Assist with the preparation of Flood Risk Assessments.
  • Deliver technical support, manage design interfaces, and conduct Design Risk Assessments.
  • Support the tendering process by reviewing client ITTs, developing design strategies, identifying risks and opportunities, and coordinating tender deliverables.
  • Collaborate with clients and the design team to ensure seamless integration of structural

Candidate Requirements:

  • A degree in Civil Engineering, with Chartered status or actively working towards it.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in drainage and highways design.
  • Proficient in the use of relevant software, such as CAD and MicroDrainage.
  • Previous experience in a consultancy environment, ideally within infrastructure sectors such as rail or power.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively and present ideas confidently.
  • Proven experience in mentoring team members and managing client relationships.
  • Able to represent the company professionally during site visits, including outside regular working hours when required.
