Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 per annum (depending on experience)

About the Role
Our client is looking to recruit a Site Engineer to join their experienced project team based in West Ham, East London. This role offers an exciting opportunity to be involved from conception to completion on major infrastructure schemes, starting with the remediation packages for Thames Water. These projects involve the complex repair of bridge structures and trunk sewer barrels, spanning both road and rail interfaces.

The successful candidate will provide site engineering duties including setting out, quality control, and supporting HSQE compliance. You’ll play a key role in project delivery alongside a dedicated team of Site Agents and Sub Agents, contributing to the success of some of the UK’s most important civil engineering works.

Key Responsibilities

• Champion safe working practices and our client’s safety culture

• Ensure legal and procedural compliance on-site

• Promote environmental standards and deliver work safely

Site Engineering

• Establish level and survey control on-site

• Set out works accurately in line with contract drawings and specifications

• Produce and maintain site records, diaries, allocation sheets and photographic evidence

• Support production of RAMS, ITPs and short-term programmes

• Identify and communicate value engineering opportunities

Quality

• Maintain defect-free delivery of works

• Promote and ensure best practice in quality assurance

Experience Required

• Previous experience of setting out and engineering on civil infrastructure projects

• Strong working knowledge of health & safety and construction regulations

• Fully conversant in the use of robotic total stations and EDM instruments

• Able to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications

Qualifications & Training

Essential

• HNC / Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent

• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

• Self-motivated and driven to deliver high standards

Desirable

• CSCS card

• Experience with AutoCAD and MS Office

• Temporary Works Coordination knowledge

• Cable avoidance, First Aid, IOSH or NEBOSH

• SMSTS
