A global, multidisciplinary Architecture Practise in London is looking to add a resourceful and persuasive Building Control Surveyor to their growing team.

The Building Control Surveyor role

The incoming Building Control Surveyor with have the opportunity to work on massive international projects and will be joining specialists in Safety by Design including CDM, BSA and international equivalents, access and maintenance and inclusive design. All these factors play a vital part to the Technical Design team practice.

The practice values and encourages ethnic and cultural diversity while maintaining our design ethos. The strategic direction of the practice is supported by the partnership board.

The successful individual will be responsible for:

Advise on UK Building Regulations for design work
Support and advise studio teams
Challenge and appraise design work
Collaborate with client organizations
Aid in the development of Building Regulations
Conduct compliance checks and manage materials
Develop and deliver in-house training
Research national and international design standards

The Building Control Surveyor

The ideal applicant must have:

Chartered membership with CABE, CIOB, or RICS
Class 3 Registration with the Building Safety Regulator
Right to work in the UK
Experience in design and construction management
Expertise in Building Control consultancy services
Knowledge of Building Regulations, CDM Regulations, Approved Documents, and Building Control
Ability to develop training plans
Proficiency in design tools, including the Autodesk suite
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
A degree in architecture, architectural technology, or engineering (desirable)

Usual working hours: 9am-6pm, 1 hour unpaid lunch
