Building operative-  with painting and decorating, flooring and general maintenance on building fabric.

£16.94 per hour Umbrella 

Main Duties:

  • Using post holder’s specific trade skills and knowledge, install, repair and maintain the Hospitals’ building fabric, fixtures and fittings, finishes and decorations.
  • To have the skills and experience to carry out cross trade works where necessary, such as; glazing, carpentry, joinery, painting and decorating, basic plumbing, waste blockages, and the installation of ligature prevention works.
  • Adapting core building trade skills and with appropriate training as necessary undertake other building and civil engineering repairs and maintenance.
  • Carry out first line investigations into all other general building elements.
  • To escort contractors working within the secure perimeter of the Hospital, when necessary, to participate in the departments on-call system as and when required.
  • After appropriate training, have a basic understanding of the Hospital’s security locks and locking systems so as to be able to remove and replace these where necessary.

  • Computer literate
  • Satisfactory attendance to work 8-16:30 M to T and 8-16 F.
  • Current driving license (manual).
  • Work to deadlines and may be required at any London site
