Building SurveyorPermanentSouth London£54,415 per annumSummaryMorgan Hunt are working with a leading social housing provider, currently looking for a Building Surveyor to join their Planned Maintenance team!Key Responsibilities:· Lead the delivery of planned and reactive maintenance, improvement programmes, and cyclical works to ensure projects are safe, on time, and of exceptional quality.

  • Conduct inspections, surveys, and evaluations to assess repairs, defects, and improvements for dwellings, buildings, and land.
  • Prepare comprehensive project reports, manage project documentation, and monitor progress, quality, and performance on-site.
  • Oversee contractors to ensure compliance with statutory responsibilities, including reviewing risk assessments and method statements.
  • Consult with customers and stakeholders to deliver services that exceed expectations, tailoring solutions to meet diverse needs.
  • Manage budgets effectively, including profiling, forecasting, and maintaining risk logs to ensure value for money.
  • Inspect works to ensure compliance with building regulations and health and safety standards, maintaining accurate records.
  • Handle final accounts, valuations, and contractual disputes to ensure smooth project completion.
  • Provide first-class resolution to queries and complaints, maintaining high customer satisfaction.

About you

  • Building maintenance and diagnostic techniques to support decision-making.
  • Managing planned works, including cyclical decoration projects.
  • Delivering and supervising maintenance contracts and managing contractors to ensure project success.
  • Construction standard contracts (e.g., JCT).
  • Leading technical inspections, producing tender briefs, pricing documents, and managing projects in a social housing environment.
  • Holistic building assessments, with an understanding of energy performance and future use considerations.

Qualifications:

  • A degree or equivalent in Building Surveying or a related technical subject.
  • Accreditation from RICS (Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors) or CIOB (Chartered Institute of Building).
  • A full, valid UK driving licence.
