Our leading Chartered Surveying client are seeking a new Senior Building Surveyor to join the business on a permanent basis, working within the Estates Management and Surveying office in London (hybrid), you will play a key role in overseeing exciting new projects on residential buildings and estates in prime London in accordance with the RICS code of practice, current legislation and operations manuals produced by the company

Duties include:

  • Carry out condition surveys and prepare capital expenditure plans and reports with budget costings for client approval on Major works projects
  • Read and interpret lease documents and advise clients.
  • Take responsibility for preparing specifications and schedules of work for both residential and commercial property.
  • Project cash-flows and oversee and contract administer both minor and major projects, issuing instructions and ensuring contracts are finished on time and to budget
  • Investigating and advising on building defects and reporting to clients and key stakeholders
  • Preparing reports for clients and property managers with recommendations on repair and maintenance.
  • Advising clients on Party walls matters
  • Preparing budgets, cost analysis and agreeing final accounts
  • Assessing plans and specifications from lessees for the altering of apartments and property for clients and advising thereon.
  • Liaising with clients, solicitors and property management colleagues in connection with the issuing of Licences for Alterations.
  • Making recommendations in connection with proposed alteration works.
  • Conduct maintenance inspections where needed

Experience Needed

  • Proven hands on Building Surveying experience
  • Experience with working on residential projects
  • Exposure to party wall matters would be beneficial
  • Degree educated or similar in a relevant subject
  • Chartered, near chartership or QBE
  • Ability to work in London 2-3 days per week
