The Opportunity

A nationally recognised firm of Chartered Surveyors is seeking a Senior Building Surveyor or Associate Director to join its well-established Building Consultancy team in Central London.

Operating within a high-performing team of 20 Surveyors, this role offers a project-led opportunity, with a primary focus on contract administration, project delivery, and client-side project management. The business has a strong pipeline of retained work with commercial property companies, institutional investors, and developers.

While the core of the workload is project-based, there will also be scope to undertake a select number of professional instructions (e.g. dilapidations, pre-acquisition surveys), helping to maintain technical breadth and support the team as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and deliver a range of refurbishment, fit-out, and new-build projects (values typically £500k–£5m)

  • Undertake full contract administration duties under JCT and other procurement routes

  • Liaise directly with clients to manage expectations, budgets, and programmes

  • Contribute to client development and business growth strategies

  • Support junior colleagues and contribute to team development and quality standards

Candidate Profile

We are looking for a commercially astute and client-focused professional who can take ownership of their projects and deliver consistently high standards of service.

Essential Requirements:

  • MRICS-qualified Building Surveyor

  • Minimum 2 years PQE (more experienced candidates also encouraged to apply)

  • Strong knowledge of project management and contract administration

  • Experience with commercial clients (property companies, funds, developers)

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

  • Proactive and career-driven, with a desire to move toward Director level
