About the Company

Our client is a well-established main contractor specialising in residential and mixed-use developments across London. With a reputation for delivering high-quality projects, they are now focusing on fire remediation work, including fire stopping, recladding, and other safety compliance measures under the new Building Safety Regulator (BSR) requirements.



About the Role

They are looking for a freelance Design & Technical Coordinator to join their team and support fire remediation projects across London. This role will focus on ensuring compliance with planning and building control while coordinating technical design aspects of projects. While fire remediation experience is not required, a solid understanding of external wall construction and general construction knowledge is essential.



Duties & Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage technical design aspects of fire remediation projects.
  • Ensure compliance with planning regulations, building control, and relevant industry standards.
  • Work closely with architects, consultants, and subcontractors to resolve design and technical issues.
  • Provide technical input on fire stopping, recladding, and external wall construction.
  • Assist in preparing and reviewing technical documentation and drawings.
  • Support pre-construction activities, including design feasibility and technical assessments.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Attend site meetings and liaise with project stakeholders.


Requirements

  • Experience working on residential projects, ideally high-rise developments.
  • Strong understanding of planning regulations and building control requirements.
  • Awareness of the Building Safety Act (BSA) - direct experience is not required.
  • Excellent general construction knowledge, particularly in external wall construction.
  • Experience in pre-construction is a bonus.
  • Faade experience is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
