Director of Fire Engineering - Lead and Drive Innovation in a Cutting-Edge Consultancy

A forward-thinking Fire Consultancy is seeking a dynamic Director of Fire Engineering to lead their South West London office.

This exciting senior role offers the opportunity to influence the future direction of a rapidly expanding organisation that values innovation, technical excellence, and strategic growth.

The Director of Fire Engineering's Role

As the Director of Fire Engineering, you will be instrumental in shaping the consultancy's growth and success. Your responsibilities will include developing client relationships, driving business development initiatives, and managing a talented Fire Engineering team.

You will oversee high-profile projects across the commercial, high-rise, and high-end residential sectors, with a particular focus on RIBA stages 4-6, including external wall details, fire alarm drawings, and sprinkler designs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and nurture strong client relationships
  • Drive business development to secure new opportunities
  • Manage, grow, and mentor the London Fire Engineering team
  • Oversee project delivery, ensuring compliance with fire safety regulations
  • Provide strategic direction and technical guidance to the team
  • Lead client-facing meetings with confidence and expertise
The Ideal Director of Fire Engineering Will Have
  • 8+ years of experience as a Fire Engineer
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or actively working towards it
  • Degree in Fire Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline
  • 6+ years of team management experience
  • Proficiency with FREAWs (PAS 9980)
  • Extensive experience in the residential and commercial sectors
  • Proven business development skills and experience securing new business
