About the Role:

My client are looking for a highly skilled Fire Engineer to join their team in London. As a Fire Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of fire safety systems, including fire alarms, fire suppression systems, emergency lighting, and fire risk assessments. You will work with a diverse range of clients, ensuring their properties meet all fire safety standards and regulations.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement fire safety systems, including fire alarms, fire suppression systems, and emergency lighting.
  • Install, commission, and maintain fire protection systems to ensure they are fully operational and compliant with industry standards.
  • Conduct fire risk assessments and provide recommendations for improvements to enhance safety.
  • Perform regular inspections, testing, and diagnostics of fire safety systems to identify and rectify any faults or issues.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their specific fire safety needs and provide tailored solutions.
  • Ensure all work complies with relevant regulations, codes of practice, and British Standards (e.g., BS 5839, BS 5266).
  • Prepare and maintain accurate documentation, including service reports, maintenance logs, and certification records.
  • Provide training and technical support to clients on the use and operation of fire safety systems.
  • Liaise with contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of projects.
  • Stay up to date with the latest fire safety technologies, regulations, and industry best practices.


Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Fire Engineer or similar role, with a focus on fire alarms, fire suppression systems, and emergency lighting.
  • In-depth knowledge of fire safety standards, regulations, and codes of practice (e.g., BS 5839, BS 5266, BS 9999).
  • Experience in designing, installing, commissioning, and maintaining fire safety systems.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail for identifying risks and recommending appropriate solutions.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and manuals.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Full UK driving license is essential.


Desirable:

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., FIA, BAFE, IFE, or equivalent).
  • Experience with both conventional and addressable fire alarm systems.
  • Knowledge of integrated fire and security systems.
  • ECS/CSCS card or equivalent safety certification.
