Role Overview: As a Senior/Principal/Chartered Fire Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing fire safety strategies for diverse building projects, ensuring compliance with the Building Regulations, particularly Approved Document B (ADB). You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality fire engineering solutions, contributing to the safety and integrity of various structures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop comprehensive fire safety strategies for a variety of building types and sectors.
- Ensure all designs comply with Building Regulations, focusing on Approved Document B (ADB).
- Lead fire engineering projects from concept through to completion, maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
- Conduct fire risk assessments and provide recommendations for mitigation.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate fire safety solutions seamlessly into building designs.
- Mentor and support junior fire engineers, fostering professional development within the team.
- Stay abreast of the latest developments in fire safety regulations and technologies.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Fire Engineering or a related discipline.
- Chartered status with a recognized professional body (e.g., IFE) is preferred.
- Minimum of 4-5 years of experience in fire engineering, with a proven track record in developing fire strategies and ensuring compliance with ADB.
- Strong understanding of UK Building Regulations and fire safety standards.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse teams.
- Proficiency in fire modelling and simulation software is advantageous.
