As a Fire Engineer, you'll take on a variety of fire engineering projects, contributing to design strategies and ensuring safety standards across multiple sectors.

Your role will combine desktop analysis and off-site activities, with opportunities to collaborate directly with clients.



The Fire Engineer's Role

  • Develop comprehensive fire strategy reports and documentation.
  • Oversee fire safety aspects, including passive and active systems, compartmentation, and escape provisions.
  • Review architectural drawings to identify potential risks and opportunities.
  • Perform evacuation time calculations and computational evacuation modelling.
  • Conduct fire engineering calculations, such as radiant heat, smoke control, and occupant evacuation scenarios.
  • Communicate fire strategies effectively to design teams and clients.
  • Provide third-party design verification.
  • Apply and ensure compliance with UK fire safety legislation and standards.


The Ideal Fire Engineer Will Have

  • A degree in Fire Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Fire Engineer within a Fire Safety Engineering team.
  • Working knowledge of regulatory controls and the ability to develop fire-engineered design solutions.
  • Membership with the Institution of Fire Engineers (MIFireE or AIFireE).
  • Strong understanding of ADB, BS 9999, BS 9991, and BB100.

  • Salary: 55,000 - 65,000
  • Annual Leave: 33 days (including bank holidays), increasing by 2 days after 2 years of service.
