The Fire Engineer Role

As a Fire Engineer, you will play a key role in the production of fire strategies for various building types across multiple sectors. Key responsibilities include:

  • Producing comprehensive fire strategies for diverse building types
  • Developing fire statements in accordance with London Plan Policy and Gateway One
  • Negotiating with approval authorities on fire safety designs and proposals
  • Conducting peer reviews of fire engineering calculations, including smoke modelling and evacuation analysis
  • Fully understanding and applying UK fire safety legislation

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3-4 years of experience in the Fire Engineering field
  • Broad experience across various projects
  • Member of the Institute of Fire Engineers
  • BEng or CEng in Fire Engineering, or relevant experience
  • Proven experience in a client-engaging environment
  • Familiarity with EWS-1 and PAS 9980 standards
