The Fire Consultant's Role

As a Fire Risk Assessor, you'll be responsible for conducting comprehensive fire risk assessments across a variety of building types and sectors. You'll produce detailed reports in line with UK fire safety legislation, including the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. Additionally, you'll advise clients on compliance, perform audits, and support the development of effective fire risk mitigation strategies.

Your role will involve engaging with local fire authorities and approval bodies, ensuring all fire safety measures meet the required standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct fire risk assessments for a wide range of building types
  • Develop thorough fire safety reports and management plans
  • Provide expert advice to clients on fire safety compliance and mitigation strategies
  • Ensure compliance with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005
  • Liaise with local fire authorities and approval bodies on fire safety designs
  • Stay up to date with UK fire safety legislation, regulations, and best practices

The Ideal Fire Consultant Will Have

  • Minimum of 3-4 years' experience in fire risk assessment
  • Broad experience across various projects and sectors
  • Proven track record in client-facing roles, offering clear and concise advice
  • Familiarity with PAS 79 and BS 9999 standards

Qualifcations

  • Membership with a recognised fire safety body (e.g., IFSM, IFE)
  • NEBOSH Fire Certificate or equivalent qualification
  • Ideally Tier 2 registered and above
