The Opportunity

Our Client is looking to expand its expert team of professional consultants and therefore, we are seeking an experienced home-based Fire Safety Consultant to join our expanding and successful consultancy team. The focus of this role is to undertake fire risk assessments and audits together with general consultancy support and advice to our clients.

Part of the week will be site-based and part at home working on reports and assisting clients; diaries are pre-planned in advance to support and assist work-life balance. There will be a requirement to travel to our sites with this role, so you will need to have a full driving licence and access to your own vehicle for travel to sites.

Competencies and Experience

You will have:

  • High-level fire-related qualification (degree or Level 4 or 5 Diploma minimum)
  • Experience in undertaking commercial Fire Risk Assessments
  • Experience in undertaking Type 1 and Type 3 residential Fire Risk Assessments
  • Thorough knowledge of current legislation, Building Regulations and British Standards
  • Good report writing, IT, and communication skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Desirable professional memberships/skills:

  • Membership of the IFE (AIFireE minimum) or IFSM (MIFSM minimum)
  • Experience with completing Passive Fire Protection Surveys
  • Compilation of Retrospective Fire Strategy documents
  • An understanding of smoke control calculations and thermal radiation analyses
  • Health and Safety qualifications such as NEBOSH Certificate
