Head of Fire Safety DeliveryPermanent£100,000 per annumLondonSummary As the Head of Fire Safety Delivery, you will lead and manage the implementation of fire safety policies, procedures, and compliance across our housing stock, ensuring that we meet and exceed all regulatory requirements. You will be responsible for ensuring the safety of our residents and staff through effective fire safety risk management, while collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure best practice is followed at all times.Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and delivery of fire safety strategies and plans across the housing association, ensuring full compliance with current fire safety regulations.
  • Oversee the fire risk assessment process for all properties, ensuring regular reviews and updates are carried out.
  • Manage a team responsible for the implementation of fire safety procedures, including risk mitigation, inspections, and maintenance.
  • Liaise with senior management, external contractors, and local authorities to ensure fire safety measures are effectively communicated and implemented.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting of fire safety performance, compliance, and incidents to senior management and regulatory bodies.
  • Lead and support investigations into fire safety-related incidents, providing recommendations for improvement.
  • Develop and deliver training programs on fire safety awareness for staff, contractors, and residents.
  • Keep up to date with emerging fire safety legislation and best practices, ensuring the housing association's fire safety policies remain relevant and effective.
  • Oversee fire safety budgets, ensuring cost-effective management of resources and timely delivery of projects.

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience in a senior fire safety role, preferably within the housing or property sector.
  • In-depth knowledge of fire safety regulations, building codes, and compliance standards (including the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005).
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with experience in managing teams and developing talent.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience in fire risk assessment, fire safety management, and project delivery.
  • Proven track record in managing fire safety budgets and resources effectively.
  • Relevant professional qualifications (e.g., NEBOSH Fire Safety, Fire Risk Assessor, or similar) would be advantageous.
