As the Interim Fire Engineering Lead, you will be responsible for the fire discipline for a prestigious project. This includes the life cycle planning along with other associated projects, design and fire related solutions.

Description

As the Interim Fire Engineering Lead, you will:

  • Lead the in-house Fire Team, integrating the fire discipline with other design disciplines, and demonstrate leadership for the subject area both inside the Authority and outwardly.
  • Drive and own the strategic direction of fire related activities, including scoping of design activities and assurance of fire related design solutions.
  • Responsible for the authorship and ownership of standards for design, implementation, and operation, as well as inter-disciplinary co-ordination with multi-disciplines design partners.
  • Strategic ownership of the fire discipline vision and direction across the Programme, including agreement of the fire safety design proposals until Programme completion.
  • Champion best-in-class delivery of fire safety across the various supply chain partners to ensure a consistently high standard for design, construction, commissioning, and handover activities.
  • Management of supply chain, including leading, scoping, and developing fire related procurement activities, especially focused on technical evaluation.
  • Provide assurance of the fire safety design, and be the key interface point for fire safety within the Authority.
  • Act as the lead for fire safety matters.
  • Production and upkeep of fire safety standards.
  • Ensure the delivery of the Programme remains at the forefront of current good practice developments for safety cases, both compulsory and voluntary input into organisational compliance.

Profile

A successful Interim Fire Engineering Lead should have:

  • Chartered Fire Engineer qualification with demonstrable experience within the field
  • Proven track history of being an industry leader
  • Safety case experience and application of ALARP
  • Experience in the production and peer review of fire engineering reports and documentation
  • Excellent communication and Interpersonal skills, with a proven track record of successful team leadership and progressively building consensus for a complex building design
  • Proven experience of building effective relationships with external stakeholders
  • Knowledge of Building Safety Act developments
  • Production of standards
  • Assurance experience
  • The ability to get to London regularly for site visits and collaboration
